Time for Travel

The situation: Me and my husband of ten years currently find ourselves both unemployed- I, having just earned a Masters in Clinical Counseling, and my husband, having just been let go of his job as a Student Pastor. Yes, a pastor and a therapist.  We have a 22-month-old (that’s almost 2 for those who don’t have kids), Shiloh, and an old grumpy dachshund with separation anxiety named Henry. After purging ourselves of most of our possessions, what we kept now sits in storage. We kept our suitcases filled with whatever would fit, the necessities, and some things to keep Shiloh busy. And her seven necessary stuffed animals. We own a house in Georgia, that is currently being rented out, and two vehicles. It would be easy to focus on what we don’t have: jobs, savings, income, a place to live… but what we do have is time: a commodity, a friend reminded me, that is quite coveted.
